Pursuing higher education is already a challenging journey, and the scheduling conflict between JEE Mains 2025 Session 2 and CBSE Class 12 board exams has further intensified the pressure on students. With both exams being crucial for academic advancement, students now face a tough choice that could significantly impact their future.
Exam Clash: The Unfortunate Overlap
JEE Mains Session 2 is set to begin on April 2, 2025, with additional exam dates on April 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9. Unfortunately, the CBSE has also scheduled Class 12 board exams on April 2 and 4. On April 2, CBSE will conduct exams for multiple language papers, while the Psychology exam is slated for April 4. The situation is further complicated by the exam timings—JEE Mains will be held in two shifts (9 AM to 12 PM and 3 PM to 6 PM), whereas CBSE board exams are scheduled from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, making it impossible for students to attend both on the same day.
CBSE Exam Dates That Clash With JEE Mains
The table below outlines the CBSE subjects that are scheduled on the same dates as JEE Mains 2025:

A Dilemma for Students
This overlapping schedule has created immense stress among students. Since passing the Class 12 board exams is a mandatory requirement for undergraduate admissions, many students feel compelled to prioritize their board exams, potentially missing out on JEE Mains. This decision could have long-term consequences, as JEE Mains serves as the gateway to prestigious engineering institutes such as NITs, IIITs, and other top-tier colleges.
Students and Parents Seek Intervention
Acknowledging the seriousness of the issue, students and parents have been actively reaching out to authorities, urging them to reconsider the exam schedule. Requests have been submitted to both the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the National Testing Agency (NTA) to either reschedule JEE Mains or adjust its timings to allow students to take both exams. However, as of now, no official statement has been issued by either CBSE or NTA regarding any changes.
